This is the residence of Hoggle.

(I also remember him giving the answer to some quest where you answer questions but i couldn't get the keyword xD)
I've asked frodo about him, to no avail.

As you can see, whats interesting about this house, is the blinky door/knob there, when you use it you get the message "10:46 The door seems to be sealed against unwanted intruders." A crowbar does not work.
Hoggle will not say anything about a door or grass or anything...
Does anyone know anything about this? Or any ideas where to start or do anything? Because I've tried for hours and I'm stumped.

Oh, btw he'll also say 'My boat sunk, I thought it would be mroe areodynamic with holes in it.' too.
Also I always believed the door was related to the post man quest but I've never finished it so I wouldn't know
I finished it and I tried it (I think).

i tried it too, maybe something with banuta, since you can also open those kinds of door, lots of those doors, maybe after the quest you can open that door?

I've tried to get in but that door doesn't open. It's probably one of the places CIP will lose later on for quests in other updates. Still, it's interesting because that garden might have a hole, that leads somewhere else...

perhaps to the square hole? there is the triangle tower right next to hoggle's home :)
it doesn't have anything to do with postman or banuta...
it's like saying you need postmans to complete annihilator because of the blinky door
blinky doors are in game so the game can only allow certain people to open them, thats it
maybe you should ask him about his boat? there might be some way to get around that door.

I saw it too, but it was on Tibia Earth. I think they removed it or so.
I think it has something to do with the quest on the whitewatch tower (On the femor hills) where the grass magically regrows, but I'm not really sure.
When I lvl up to a reasonable lvl, I'll take a shooter and we'll go explore a bit of PoH. The only places I've been to are: cyclopses, the temple and that's like it :). I've read a LOT of the Knightwatch Tower (KWT) and it may have something to do with this.

we also know that in his house are plants, jungle grass to be exact, so maybe go to a plant shop or a shop where you can buy machete's? or perhaps scarabs and orc spearman got something to do with it since they drop machetes and heavy machetes.

uhm, the Hoggle "quest" is over 5 years old, maybe thats why the new NPC Marina didn't say so much about him :D

Maybe you can try other types off food. maybe he doesnt only like fish?
Forget about the other food, but isnt there a book you can find in the femur hills? maybe give it to him?

Hell yeah! CIP always does that, they leave quests undone or in the middle of it so people roleplay, that's what this game needs, roleplayers, nowadays there's only PGers, PAers and PKs >.<
About that, I already told him about the big fish, no answer.

Did you came back and said mission or reward after you completed last part of it (Mintwallin I believe is last)?
Similar thing happened to my friend and I took him back to postman NPC where we discovered he forgot to say some things ;)

Don't trust your quest log too much, mine doesn't show completed for some missions although I did really complete them...
Just go back to the post NPC and try out keywords "rank", "reward", "mission" and see what happens. If nothing - try get ahold of senior tutor or even a gamemaster to report a bug (don't know what else it could be)
You're only able to open that kind of doors at mailboxes.

I was hoping that Hoggle was giving Boots of Waterwalking, cuz everything he talks about is ships, mermaids...fish. Everything about water. THERE IS EVEN A LEATHER BOOTS SPAWN THERE. You guys thinking too much..wtf bunny slippers?
I also asked Mulf if he had done it, look at the pictures in his interview. He had Soft Boots. He helped me with Silver Mace, why wouldn't I believe him..

Don't write reward is soft boots if you do not have any evidence to back it up.
I haven't seen, read or heard anything that might confirm that Hoggle gives any quest at all.
Hoggle is very old NPC, as like most of Thais NPC's are (back in the days when only Thais existed), and probably was there long before sprites for soft boots even appeared.
I heard a rumor from an old player that Hoggle is linked to old deleted quest in Thais troll caves, and also that the door in his garden isn't connected to him. Just think of similar doors (Hellgate, Thais troll cave) who are linked and are part of bigger quests like Explorer society. So it is possible Hoggle isn't the key for opening it, and most likely - serves no purpose anymore. Just remember what happened to Loria and mystic lich bone.
This is all speculation - but that's whats purpose of this section... to discuss and offer solutions for mysteries of Tibia.
About Mulf also... he was great quester and has solved many quests, but they are most likely all gone and closed. In the old times - before the "new quest" system, most items and prizes could only be obtained once or twice by those most skillfull, I very much doubt same can happen today.
Till someone prooves me otherwise - I'll keep believing Hoggle hasn't got a purpose anymore.
And thats a reason why you will never get a rare item

Hoggle has always been in my mind, that is why i wanne solve his riddle. And now i found a word: Stupid. Just after the update so Cip did something with him and i wanne find out what. They just gave him more words or did they reset a quest or isnt he still of any use. So untill i know this i wont stop going to him and trying.

I am very interested with where Hoggle is actually located. He is rather close to the old phoenix quest thing in the troll cave so maybe that was like his hideout from when Ferumbras attacked or something idk, many possiblities but I think he is just an old forgotten NPC :(

My guess is, it can't be solved.
Before the new quest system, when tibia was mysterious, perhaps.
But since there are over 200 thousand people playing, and not one has found any way forward, i doubt cip would even think of allowing the quest to develop, not nowadays at least.
Basically, tibia quests are now set on a series of triggers, the main quests which arent just random chests you find around the place, these have corresponding triggers to the quest log so you need to trip these triggers in order to advance in a quest and therefore update your log. So basically you need to question every npc in tibia that was there when the door near hoggle was introduced and try and trip the trigger that updates your log.
If the quest didnt exist anymore, CIP would have removed the door as they went over all quests with triggers and added them to the log in the last update.
I hope what i said made sense, cause reading it back i confused myself.

I don't know if this helps, as it has nothing to do with Hoggle, I only posted it becuase he's the nearest npc
then again there are still alot of useless doors in tibia such as the one near venore swamps, its got a blinky knob and everything and just like a door of expertise you move in its spot after opening it, yet there is nothing special about whats behind the door because if i remember corectly you can just walk around the building to get to where the door opens to, and if thats not right i htink its just a dead end

I'm really annoyed that there's pretty only one guy who's trying to progress with this thread and quest. Everyone else seems to be going in circles - confusing themselves or posting senseless drivel that cannot help. I don't tend to openly call people retarded but you guys are really dumb. In the first few months of my tibia, I was told that the postman's quest opened blinky doors. Then i saw a cam for the annihilator and my friend said the postman's opens that too. I shot him down in a heart beat - no way would they have any relevance to each other. Get out of the Zelda or ff mind-set and think how the real world would solve this. You have no bombs t blow up secret hidden passages - There isn't just a single path to freedom - there's a world with real people and logic based npcs. To my understanding this quest just isn't no npc even knows of the existence of the door. Here's a logical idea how bout that jungle grass represents pot. Hoggle is growing tibian pot and that's why he's seeing fishmaids. He doesn't speak about it cos Stutch and harksy will come and track him down. Belive that cos it's have more logical that the crap you lot are spitting on my screen.

People are here to have discussion about mysteries of Tibia, to make hypothesis and test solutions, even if some are far off in their ideas - who are you to flame them so hard?

Edit: I think this NPC has something to do with teh Noble armour quest in sternum, because look....backward names.....the dead guy (Dago)...to get teh key you have to answer 3 questions...one of them is whats his favourite pet...the answer is redips...which is "Spider" backwards.
Edit again: 15:06 Lubo: Oh, you sure mean this old story about the mage Dago, who lost two fingers when he conjured a dragon.
Ok.....this is just for the noble armor quest...BOTH of these NPCs talk about him.....Banner with teh black eye (black Deamon), lost 2 fingers in a conjuration (explains the 7 fingers thingy) and of course...backwards name (Redips)
These give most of the answers to the quest...in short....this "mystery" was solved long ago :P

I remember a few years ago, someone told me that Aruda, the thief NPC in thais was connected to lubo and his map, because she steals from you.
It's obviously not players who buy the map, it's probably NPCs, so Aruda is the most likely NPC to buy the map.

This was known before- this thread is about the blinky door
Perhaps this isn't a quest after all? Maybe it's just supposed to be some really weird allusion that none of us are familiar with? But I think Hoggle's hiding something past that darned door. And it can't be something from the old 1999 Tibia, because there weren't ever blinky doors, so that must mean it's something new and solvable. We need to use what other NPCs say about him and maybe we can make some more assumtions. But I like Hoggle, and I know there's something hidden, so try not to give up on this?

Edit: I think this NPC has something to do with teh Noble armour quest in sternum, because look....backward names.....the dead guy (Dago)...to get teh key you have to answer 3 questions...one of them is whats his favourite pet...the answer is redips...which is "Spider" backwards.

Ok.....this is just for the noble armor quest...BOTH of these NPCs talk about him.....Banner with teh black eye (black Deamon), lost 2 fingers in a conjuration (explains the 7 fingers thingy) and of course...backwards name (Redips)
These give most of the answers to the quest...in short....this "mystery" was solved long ago :P
well maybe u should try pets -- dog becomes god , pig becombes gip i dont know anymore ibia pets xD

That blinky door..I think it has nothing to do with him.....I havent really looked into it :P
Perhaps it is connected in some way with POI? Since Hoggle refers to Hugo the demon bunny.

I v read evey port in this Theard and so far everything iv every tryd in my 4years playing tibia was mentiond :( thoe one thing not mentiond is there is another guy like hoggle north of amazon spawn by Venore close to the hunters maby thats something do with im ..remote npc by water..never know could be brothers :p just an onist RPG'ers Apion<--probaly spelld wrong :confused:

i have at my disposal a menagerie of hard to get items.... perhaps i'll take up this challenge once i get to university and am able to play tibia again.... i'll keep you updated
I think youre looking at it in the wrong way. Hoggle himself is just another allusion to Forest Gump (anyone who have actually seen the film would know - he sank his ship, he was a fisherman, got called stupid etc. (ill try something with run or money or war or pingpong too >.<)) but the door is totally not connected with him whatsoever. and as someone else mentioned you will probably have to trip a trigger somewhere else.
UPDATE 2007:
Ok, if you want a screenshot of it for proof, ask me, but my brother was walking around in Hoggle's basement thing when he saw some level 46 Elder Druid walk through the door. This was today (Dec. 11, 2007) the day of the Christmas update so I think it's actually something new now. He mentioned something about Femur Hills when my brother asked him how to get in.

in other forum some mulf friend said that mulf got most of his quests from this Hoggle guy i pasted like 50% all book text inside tibia and gave up... this was before winter update and i didn't bother to paste item names
(for example this is how mulf answered to elf fortress magic wall question the room where dharalion spawns)
Hm yes, but me and Baumbart were not sure if the vanished Mwall was a Bug or something we made. Because we made stuff in this place under the rotworm dungeon where you get via levitation aslo we have found a spawned key in the venore prison which was for the door in the dungeon under elven castle. When we got to the place the mwalls were gone, later they were there - so i don't know exactly how we made it.
(then when asked on venore rotworms "dream machine")
dont know what it's called, there's also a chessfield "

In this dungeon with the chessfield there was/is a logic quest , we simply read books from venore and later pushed around a few objects at this place , don't remember much anymore concerning details
the chessroom is the room directly under the rotworm cave, it's the place were you needed the levitation spell to go down and up

You shouldn't trust blindly what Mulf said. Even many respected players on Antica agreed he was a fraud.

LOL I figured out how to get into Hoggels garden on one half hour by myself and just say pest plants and then yes and u can open the door.
