Tibiacity Letter Writing Contest: “Call for Letters continued”

Note: this contest is a Tibiacity contest. CipSoft and their own contests are in no way related to this contest.

Dear fellow Tibians,

Some time ago, CipSoft hosted a contest called Call for Letters. In this contest, players got the chance to write a letter to a Tibian NPC. All 40 winners got a reply from the NPC they wrote their letters to. These winning letters and replies can be read in the latest Featured Article: Tibian Letters.

In the contest thread, many, many more letters were submitted, though. We from the Tibiacity staff feel that some of those letters deserve an answer too!

That is where you come in! In this contest, you get to play the role of an NPC – it’s your job to write a reply to one of the letters from this thread. You can pick any letter, as long as it didn’t win CipSoft’s original contest. Time to get creative!

What can I win?

1st prize: Elvish Trophy, Golden Rune Emblem, First Item Choice, Tibiacity Encyclopedia

What do I have to do?

Pick a letter you want to reply to from this thread.
Check if the letter wasn’t one of the winners in this featured article.
Write a reply to the letter from the NPC’s point of view. Keep in mind that your reply should fit within Tibia’s atmosphere and lore.
Post on this thread, or on our thread on the Tibia.com Event Board. Make sure your post includes a link to the letter you are replying to, a copy of the letter you are replying to and your own letter.

Judging

All letters submitted in this thread will be judged on several points. These points include but are not limited to:

Creativity: How creative is your answer? Was it fun and interesting to read or did you copy it straight from the game?
Style: Is your answer interesting and easy to read? Note that we will keep in mind that not everyone is a native English speaker.
Relevance: How relevant is your reply to the original letter you were answering?
Tibia-ness: How well does your answer fit into Tibia?

Your letter should be a reply to one of the letters from the contest thread and may not have been a winner in that contest.
You may submit as many entries as you want, but you can only win once.
Each entry may contain up to 200 words.
Your entry should be in the form of a letter, starting with a salutation to the person you are writing to (e.g. “Dear Knight of the White Wolf, …) and ending with a farewell (e.g. Kind regards, Green-dragon).
Your entry should fit Tibia’s atmosphere and lore
Your entry should be yours and yours alone. Copying from any source will lead to exclusion from the contest.

Hello, brave adventurer.

I have to start saying that you are only half right. Yes, I don't receive many letters - except from King Tibianus III, that
sends me one every month, charging me for living in this island, that he claims as his - but I'm never in real solitude, in spite of
the name of my blessing. I'm surrounded by spirits, filled with positive energy, and they are my companionship. They just aren't
made of flesh and blood.

Well, let me answer your question and slake your curiosity, noble adventurer. I don't know about the others, but I pay high taxes
for keeping this island, that belongs to Edron, which is controlled by King Tibianus III from Thais. Besides that, I have to buy the
ingredients to make possible the spell that guarantee your blessing. I'm too old to go looking for these ingredients by myself, and
I can't leave the island, other adventurers may come.

back in time when i was younger i found a tresaure and i hide it really good, it's the biggest and powerful tresaure thati ever seen in my entire life, so do you.
So i need to hide up my identity because dark mages are trying to get to the tresaure,
and if they find it, tibian's life will be in danger, their power would be so strong that even the strongest mage couldn't stop it ever.

I couldn't believe my eyes when i came back home and i saw letter in my mailbox.
I need to apologize you for my behavior but as probably you noticed people usually are not nice to me.
Many times i was trapped or surrounded with huge crates which i am not able to push.

Dear Xysterial,

I don't know exactly why, but when I asked to one Gnome, he said that is because one blue crystal explosion occurred in his creation. I don't believe.

And, years ago, many peoples spoke about one king who lurked in the depths of Ulderek's Rock with some treasures. At the time, many warriors tried invade the fortress, but were killed by the troops of orcs.

So, I had a plan: I invade the fortress alone and to attract the fewest orcs, I threw Red Backpacks with trash around and they go behind. The plan worked, and I caught the treasure. Unfortunately, when I was leaving one of guards caught me and took my backpack with the treasure.

I don't know how many backpacks I threw, but was many, and I still don't found the real backpack. In addition, other adventurers stole my idea and more backpacks appear there everyday.

I acknowledge your frustration. However, I would like to tell you my story first, before providing you with any answer.
A long time ago, I was a young apprentice who was ambitious to solve riddles. The Serpentine Tower mystery had me curious from the first day. I spent days and months, studying and researching in the libraries. Eventually, I was quite certain that I knew everything I needed. I managed to get to the last lever. As I pulled it, the big rock next to it gave way, and I ended up in a cell with no exit. I tried to escape, but had no success. As I was about to give up all hope, a shadow appeared in the cell. He said his name was Arkhothep, and said I would be his new servant. An eternal servant, guarding the secrets I spent all of my time trying to uncover.

Dear Marziel,

With the biggest fascination I have explored the castle you and your brothers lived in during your human lives. Your life story intrigued me from the moment you reached Yalahar up to the day your brother was turned into a vampire. Your life had a sad twist, but in the end you do live the infinite life of a vampire now. I have spent days living in your castle, exploring all of its secret passages, bookcases, moving walls and magic mirrors, but your own west-wing of the castle is by far the most fascinating wing of the castle. There are many secrets your diary does not speak about. I would die to find out the story behind the Fury and Dark Torturer locked in a cage just below your coffin. Another question comes to my mind, who is the sleeping beauty in your wing? Your diary does not speak about it, and I would love to know who this woman is. It feels good to know that one of my followers is interested in my life story, my castle and the sleeping beauty. However there’s something you need to know. You committed a big mistake by trying to check around my castle. Your soul has been locked inside my cursed house for an eternity now. Everything you touched, saw and smelt has taken every living cell from you. You are dead and you haven’t even realised it yet. As I am the sage to bestow the Wisdom of Solitude blessing on young adventurers, it should be evident that I am content to live alone. Of course, it was difficult in the beginning when I first came to live on this island by myself. For days I would stare at the horizon, waiting for the sight of Pemaret's little boat, bearing me a visitor. I tried to keep myself busy in my garden to distract myself from the ache of loneliness. I admit that I even began to have conversations with myself, so that I would not be living in complete silence.


Over time, it became easier. Since I have been living here unaccompanied for many years, I do not mind the quietness anymore. However, I do not mind receiving visitors... I only wish they were in better moods when they arrived here!

When the time comes, he or she who is destined to wield the Sword of Fury (because they are as great as I am), shall pass through Rookgaard and obtain it. I am greatly humbled that you are interested in me, for I provide passage for hundreds of Tibians daily and rarely is there any interest or appreciation shown towards myself. So, I thank you for your letter.


The reason I earned the name "Fearless" is because I am the only captain brave enough to sail the route haunted by the terrible Ghost Ship. In fact, no other captain in the Royal Tibia Line has even dared to sail these haunted waters. They all cringe at the very thought of encountering a little ghost, ha! I am quite fond and proud of my name. I believe it's a heck of a lot better than Captain Bluebear or Captain Cookie!

What a disrespectful Luminerian you are! First of all you shouldn’t worry about the urine I sell. Clearly you are a drama queen. My beloved mother, Mary, was my predecessor in the shop I own now and many years ago she used to sell those vials with urine to customers who had serious injuries or harmful diseases which were cured instantly. Do you realise how important it’s to me to keep running this urine business in my shop? I prefer to keep who provides me with fresh urine everyday a secret, but I can tell you that urine is basically “water” and healthy urine is NOT TOXIC.
