What is Tibia?

Tibia is a free 2D MMORPG (massive multiplayer online roleplaying game) based on creating a community and a good gameplay. It’s not because it’s not 3D that it can’t be a wonderful game. This 2D look just gives you 100% control of your actions. You can see what happens everywhere around you and monsters can’t catch you from behind. You can also take a premium account (paid membership). When you’re a premium player you have some advantages (see lower).

The world where you play in is huge and it keeps getting larger. Every year there are two giant game updates. Once a year there comes a new city. Now there are two regular cities, a city in the swamp, a city made of trees, two cities in the desert, 1 city under the ground, 1 city on an island and 1 in the jungle. There are also several small cities. Further there are many dungeons to hunt in, with different themes (from mines to swamps, from a jungle to tombs…).

There are also countless items (look in our item section to see a fraction of them) and all kinds of monsters. You can also choose out of 4 vocations to play on; knight, paladin, druid or sorcerer. You can also do quests in Tibia and get rewarded after completing them.

Premium account players (players that pay a monthly fee) have some advantage. They can access a larger area then free account players, and they don’t have to wait until it’s their turn to log in. Premium account can be purchased by 3, 6 or 12 months for a low amount of money. Premium account players can also start a guild (group of friends who can buy a guildhall) or buy houses. They have larger depots (so they can store more items) and in their houses they can keep an infinite amount of money. Premium account players can also sleep in beds and they can buy a promotion once they are level 20. With this promotion your HP and mana goes up faster and you lose less experience points when you die. There are many other benefits, it’s just too much to mention, but you’ll get knowledge of them once you’re playing the game.
